WHATTOTASTE IN KOREA

#WHATTOTASTE IN KOREA <3

“First thing first, eat. And then we do everything else.”
We, wanderers, first thing to crave is always, food. Especially when we travel somewhere we’ve never been before.
So this first ever post will tell you things (I mean, delectable foods) when I’m in Korea for almost 1 week. It’s actually interesting cause maybe one of them will make you frowning but trust me, it’s worth it.

1. CHICKEN DALGAKBI
Hari pertama datang ke Korea, this was my first lunch. You can simply called this dish chicken barbeque, with a handful of rice cake and shitake mushroom (I guess). Sudah disediain daun selada, nasi, semangkuk sup rumput laut dan beberapa side dishes ala korea such as kimchi, dan teman-temannya. Cara makannya simple saja seperti di drama-drama korea, ambil daun selada, ambil nasi, and then the chicken + the mushroom, last a roasted already garlic and HAP! A fistful happiness in your mouth.

2. GOPJANG GUI
You’ll find them in many street vendors around Dongdaemun and other. This one is grilled cow or pig intestines, mine was pig’s. I know it sounds disgusting, but for some people who love chewy food, this will suit your taste. But surprisingly good though. Ate them with ramyeon I bought at the minimarket, such a delightful night.

3. BULGOGI
It’s a cold cold day when I ate this enticing Bulgogi, it matched the weather, and also my liking. The dish contains fishcake, beef, a lot of vegetables, and also mushroom (enoki and shitake). Rasanya asin gurih, dan kuahnya bener-bener the type of  broth you’ll die for haha, daging bangeeet! Ps : I love the fact that they have spicy fishcake as one of the side dishes. I LOOOVE FISHCAKE. And the bulgogi too.

4. SAMGYETANG
Cause they have specialties in cultivating ginseng, and they do not import their best ginseng to other country. Tenang aja, for wanderers that do not like strong taste in food, rasa ginseng nya bener-bener tipis banget. Rasa kuahnya bener-bener mirip kaldu ayam, it’s a total healthy food.

5. STREET FOOD
The last, but yet the best (for me), was the street foods. They’re actually a bit expensive, 1 skewer cost 1000 won, which means 12.500 in rupiah. AND ITS SMALL. But effortlessly delicious. Paling sering beli fishcake rebus, terus dikasih kuahnya digelas enak banget dimakan pas cuaca lagi dingin. Pernah juga nyobain gurita dibakar and then dikasih mustard and saos-saos enak which I don’t know the name, rasanya mirip takoyaki tapi tanpa tepungnya. Paling banyak sih sate ayam dan babi atau meatballs, di grilled barbeque or grilled with salt and butter only. The best ever.

Soooo, that’s all for now! The SixVagabonds will keep you wanderers in touch for our next journey, see ya!
